By accessing or using The Chronicler (“the Service”), operated by The Chronicler UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Berlin, Germany (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
The Chronicler is an AI-powered campaign intelligence engine for tabletop role-playing games. The Service processes audio recordings of game sessions using automated transcription and artificial intelligence to generate campaign wikis, session recaps, quest tracking, entity extraction, relationship mapping, and session highlights. The Service is designed for use by Game Masters and players of tabletop RPGs.
To use the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and authenticating via email/password or a supported OAuth provider (Google, Discord, or Twitch). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it if it changes.
The Service offers three subscription tiers:
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice.

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate transcripts, entity descriptions, session recaps, relationship maps, quest summaries, and other content. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or contain errors. The Game Master (account holder) is responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before sharing it with players or relying on it for campaign planning. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy of AI-generated content.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
You retain ownership of all campaign content you create using the Service, including audio recordings, campaign settings, character descriptions, and any original creative content you input. The Chronicler retains ownership of the platform, including its software, design, branding, and AI models. You grant us a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not claim ownership of your creative content.
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in behaviour that is harmful to the Service or its users. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days to allow for account recovery, after which it will be permanently deleted unless retention is required by law.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE CHRONICLER, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Berlin, Germany. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under EU law.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice within the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
